TalentSprint, a global ed-tech company renowned for its transformational deep tech programs, has announced the launch of a pioneering program, ‘WISH’ (Women in Silicon Hardware). This program is designed to empower women engineers in the Semiconductor and Hardware industry. Google supports the program, which provides full scholarships and internship opportunities to 50 selected third-year women engineering students for this cohort.
The WISH program draws inspiration from its highly successful sister program – the Women Engineers (WE) program by TalentSprint, also supported by Google. Since its inception in 2019, the WE program has positively impacted the lives of over 950 women software engineers, enabling them to kick-start their careers with top tech companies worldwide.
Building on the success of the WE program, the WISH program will equip students with online training to develop expertise in technology, soft skills, and tools required for the hardware industry.
The students will also participate in a hands-on physical bootcamp at a Google Site and gain access to internship opportunities. With dedicated training from experienced TalentSprint faculty and mentoring by Google, the 50 selected students will be groomed into industry-ready professionals.
Partha Ranganathan, VP-Technical Fellow at Google, commented on the announcement, stating that supporting TalentSprint’s WISH program reflects Google’s ongoing commitment to diversity in the global tech workforce. He emphasized that the program is a step towards Google’s vision of fostering a workforce that mirrors user diversity, creating a culture of belonging, and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
