Rajkot, Gujarat: Marwadi University, a prominent private educational institution in Gujarat, recently marked a significant milestone with its 6th Convocation ceremony, graced by the presence of students, faculty, and esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Arif Mohammad Khan, the distinguished Governor of Kerala. The ceremony saw the conferral of degrees and diplomas upon 2051 graduates, including 366 international students hailing from Syria, South Sudan, U.A.E, Zambia, and other nations.
Mr. Arif Mohammed Khan, the Honorable Governor of Kerala, congratulated the graduates during his address, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards of excellence. He stated, “Despite having achieved a remarkable milestone, you cannot rest, as your own body of work is yet to come. The acquisition of knowledge without the growth of wisdom and empathy or compassion can degenerate us, and such knowledge without compassion, human values is a threat to fellow human beings. It is a moral duty of every University, every teacher to help students discover themselves.”
Marwadi University showcased notable progress in academic research, with 246 research papers published in the past academic year. The university’s H-index increased from 26 to 37, indicating an enhancement in the quality and impact of its research. Additionally, the university allocated a seed grant of almost INR 1 Cr to emerging researchers to support their initiatives.
The commitment to preparing students for the job market was evident, with 444 companies visiting the campus during the Academic Year 2022-23, offering a total of 850 job positions. The highest salary package offered was INR 22 Lakhs per annum.
Mr. Ketanbhai Marwadi, Founder & President of Marwadi University, extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and shared his best wishes for the graduating students. In a demonstration of its commitment to academic excellence, Marwadi University introduced five new programs across multiple disciplines for the Academic Year 2022-23. These programs include B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Data Science, B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics, and M.Pharm. in Pharmaceutics and Regulatory Affairs. The university also underwent a restructuring of existing programs to align with evolving educational guidelines as per the National Education Policy (NEP).
Internationalization took center stage as the International Office at MU signed over 37 MoUs and facilitated student and faculty exchanges with institutions globally. Collaborations with 56 national and international organizations, including Salesforce, University of Public Service-Hungary, LUISS-Italy, and ZURU Tech India Pvt Ltd., highlighted the institution’s dedication to fostering global partnerships and enhancing educational opportunities.
(Prof.) Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, Vice Chancellor of Marwadi University, emphasized the institution’s commitment to instilling values in students. He stated, “We want our students to imbibe the values of a LEADER; lifelong learning, empathy, adaptability, diversity, empowerment, and respect.
