This special block will take forward Dr Stya Paul’s life mission of man-making & nation-building
Gurugram, August, 2023: A special block named ‘Apeejay Stya Block’ in the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Institute of Values (VIVA), Gurugram, was recently inaugurated in memory of Late Dr. Stya Paul – educationist, industrialist, philanthropist, freedom fighter and inspiration behind all Apeejay Stya Institutions.
The block was inaugurated by Dr. Stya Paul’s daughter and only child Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Stya Group and Chairperson, Apeejay Education.
VIVA was earlier inaugurated by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana.
The block inauguration was held in the presence of Swami Shantatmanandaji of RK Mission, Mr Nishant Berlia, grandson of Dr. Stya Paul, and his great-grandchildren. Members of Apeejay Stya Institutions joined this momentous occasion in large numbers.
Dr. Stya Paul’s legacy of excellence is being carried forward by Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, who has made outstanding contributions in the realms of education, industry and society. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Berlia, said, “It is a tribute which is not only to my beloved father Dr. Stya Paul but equally to his life’s mission of Man-Making & Nation-Building. It is important to remember Dr. Stya Paul not only because he was a great man but because he was an ordinary man who rose to extraordinary heights, something each one of us can aspire to emulate. He hardly talked about values, he lived the values.”
Mrs. Berlia added, “For us, the association with Ramakrishna Mission goes a long way. Value-based education rooted in Indian culture has been the hallmark of Apeejay Education all along.” She said that coming together of Apeejay Education and Ramakrishna Mission is a seamless synergy of like-minded thought, vision and values and this association will seek to continue working closely in furthering the cause of values in education and education for values.
Swami Shantatmanandaji, Secretary Ramakrishna Mission and Head, Vivekananda Gurugram said, “We are filled with a sense of gratitude and indebtedness for the noble and magnanimous support extended by Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia of the Apeejay Stya and Svran Group.” Swamiji explained that Ramakrishna Mission, founded 125 years ago by Swami Vivekananda always believes that the highest levels of spiritual attainment must come through service to humanity. Apeejay Education has been effectively imparting the Value Education programmes and projects of Ramakrishna Mission for several years.
